Jeffrey M. Goldberg Law Offices successfully prosecuted a case on behalf of Abigaile Lebron, a 4½ year old child injured at birth due to physician and hospital negligence. She now has Cerebral Palsy as a result. The law firm filed a declaratory action seeking to have a new law, which limited the amount that could be recovered for the victim declared unconstitutional so that it could not be applied to Abigaile or any other person within the State of Illinois. On Thursday, February 4, 2010 the Illinois Supreme Court declared the legislation was unconstitutional and would never be applied to affect the rights of injured citizens. This landmark decision will serve to protect the rights of people injured through medical negligence throughout Illinois.
