JEFFREY GOLDBERG: Our firm is in the forefront of technology in litigation. Most of our depositions are videotaped with two cameras. We have video microscopes; we have internet connections. We try to put in front of the jury all of the information necessary to educate the jury and make sure they make the right decision.
When I walk into the courtroom, I want to make sure I can teach the jury everything they need to know to understand the case, to see why our client was wronged, and to come up with a fair and just verdict.
We've developed our own video tape systems for use in depositions to use two cameras to take one camera of the witness and one of the exhibits and merge them together to give the jury a true picture. We also can memorizlie evidence so if that witness becomes unavailable through death or disappearances or move and cannot be found, we can still present the full story to the jury.
I think doctors and nurses learn medicine by looking at pictures and books and having demonstrations conducted for them. The jury is no different, and the jury deserves to have pictures, videos, and all the things a doctor or nurse would use in training. Not just someone telling them something, but the ability to see and understand for themselves.
