Jeffrey M. Goldberg, Renowned Chicago Attorney Honored as a 'Champion of Justice' for his relentless Pursuit of Public Interest Law and Support of Public Interest Foundation.

Jeffrey M. Goldberg one of the nation's premier medical malpractice and personal injury attorneys, was honored with the "Champion of Justice" award at the Public Justice Foundation's 30th Anniversary Gala in Chicago, Illinois, on July 31, 2012.

Mr. Goldberg was cited for his history of beating back attempts to deny plaintiffs their day in court, efforts to limit their damages awards and has dedicated his career to applying his experience and resources to balance the scales of justice on behalf of his clients and deliver the maximum results.

Mr. Goldberg is a past president of the Washington, D.C. based Public Justice Foundation and sponsors a fellowship at Public Justice, enabling the firm to maintain one of the most comprehensive public interest dockets in the country.

The Champion of Justice Award is the Public Justice Foundation's highest honor.

Jeffrey M. Goldberg Law Offices successfully prosecuted a case on behalf of Abigaile Lebron, a four and a half-year-old child injured at birth because of physician and hospital negligence. She presently has Cerebral Palsy as a result. The law firm filed a declaratory action seeking to have a new law that limited the amount that could be recovered for the victim declared unconstitutional, so that it could not be applied to Abigaile or any other person within the State of Illinois. On Thursday, February 4, 2010, the Illinois Supreme Court declared the legislation was unconstitutional and would never be applied to affect the rights of injured citizens. This landmark decision will serve to protect the rights of people injured through medical negligence throughout Illinois.

Jeffrey M. Goldberg has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer for the eighth year in a row. Each year, tens of thousands of ballots are mailed to attorneys in Illinois. These attorneys are asked to vote for the best lawyers they personally have observed in action. Each candidate's record is reviewed to assure good standing with the Supreme Court of Illinois. The attorneys under consideration are reviewed by a blue ribbon panel. As an Illinois Super Lawyer, Mr. Goldberg has been recognized by his peers as being outstanding in his profession.
