Trial Technology

Our computer graphics and audio-visual evidence preparation and presentation facility houses the most sophisticated equipment available to help us create easy-to-understand courtroom exhibits.

For instance, in addition to using three-dimensional anatomical models, we frequently develop computer animations that simulate a surgical procedure.

To demonstrate at trial how our clients' injuries occurred and could have been prevented, we routinely create highly-detailed, scale models of accident sites and equipment.

We also maintain an extensive medical library and have a registered nurse on staff.

Margaret ObertsMargaret Oberts works as a legal nurse consultant for Jeffrey M. Goldberg Law Offices. Ms. Oberts attended Loyola University and completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing, summa cum laude. She later received her master’s degree from DePaul University.

Case Results

An expectant mother presented at her hospital in Chicago for the delivery of her first child. Her physician was not present and the hospital's "house doctor", who had not been formally trained in obstetrics, was managing the labor with attending nurses. By the time the personal physician arrived the fetus had suffered a significant lack of oxygen and was delivered in a very depressed state. The baby developed cerebral palsy. On the eve of trial, the hospital and other defendants offered a global settlement with a present cash value in excess of $13,000,000.00 including some portions in cash and future payments that will support the child for life.
