JEFFREY GOLDBERG: Our firm handles any type of medical malpractice matter where one of our potential clients has been injured as a result of negligent treatment by a hospital, a nurse, a physician or any health care practitioner.
When we interview a client, our nurse sits in on the initial interview to make sure we're not missing medical issues because we're not medically trained. She can ask questions as she would at the bedside, and ask all of the questions involving drugs, medications, symptoms, all the things that a nurse or doctor should be asking.
MARGARET OBERTS: There's a lot of medical law firms that don't have an on-staff nurse. They'll use an outsourced nurse. It's very nice that I'm here because nurses know the medicine, but they also know how to relate I think very well to families.
JEFFREY GOLDBERG: One of the important aspects of medical malpractice litigation is that the clients can help participate in changing the system. They can help force a hospital or a medical practitioner to implement systems that could have prevented their injury and help prevent injuries like theirs from ever happening in the future.
If you are in a situation where you think a loved one or yourself has been the victim of medical malpractice, you should never hesitate to call an experienced medical malpractice attorney such as ourselves. It's very important if you have any question to seek answers to the question.
