Law firm secures $9 million settlement for Wisconsin family for medical malpractice case
Our law firm recently recovered $9 million for a Wisconsin family that took legal action in a medical malpractice case involving a birth injury that resulted in severe cerebral palsy. Due to mistakes made by physicians and other medical professionals, a dangerous amount of the drug Cytotec was administered to a mother in labor, causing excessive uterine contractions and ultimately fetal distress. The doctor then failed to monitor the fetus for more than four hours or order a C-section in a timely manner, resulting in the child being born with severe brain injuries. The child will need full-time assistance for the rest of his life.
We took legal action against the negligent medical professionals. The case was settled out of court shortly before going to trial.

Jeffrey M. Goldberg Law Offices successfully prosecuted a case on behalf of Abigaile Lebron, a four and a half-year-old child injured at birth because of physician and hospital negligence. She presently has Cerebral Palsy as a result. The law firm filed a declaratory action seeking to have a new law that limited the amount that could be recovered for the victim declared unconstitutional, so that it could not be applied to Abigaile or any other person within the State of Illinois. On Thursday, February 4, 2010, the Illinois Supreme Court declared the legislation was unconstitutional and would never be applied to affect the rights of injured citizens. This landmark decision will serve to protect the rights of people injured through medical negligence throughout Illinois. Read more.
